Vietnam Unlock was born out of frustration. Too many Vietnam travel guides are written by people who spent five days here and called it expertise. Jake Morrison moved to Hanoi in March 2021 — originally for three months — and never left. Five years, all 63 provinces, and one guiding principle: real talk for independent travelers.

The blog covers Vietnam from north to south with the kind of depth that only comes from living here. Honest itineraries. Street food guides with actual addresses. Scam warnings from someone who's seen every trick. Accommodation picks across every budget tier. The Ha Giang Loop, the Ninh Binh boat caves, Hanoi's chaotic Old Quarter, Hoi An at dusk — all written from experience, not aggregated from other blogs.
